Bha Mi’n Raoir ‘san Taigh-Osda ("I Spent Last Night In The Tavern")

The first film in the series was directed by award-winning writer/director Eleanor Yule. This lush, spine-tingling song is sung by Mary Smith, one of the greatest traditional Gaelic singers in the world. It was an extremely exciting time for Sorbier when Martin Compston signed up to play the role of a handsome young suitor in love with an older, single Mum - a role played beautifully by Therèse Bradley. Filming took place in Ardrossan, setting the signature style for the strand. Francis MacNeil filmed the piece, and Phyllis Ironside edited.
